Travel: Nashville Trip November 2014

Nashville is perhaps one of my favorite US cities I've had the chance to visit while I have been living over here. It's roughly four and a half hours away from where I am currently based so it's a city I can easily get to for a weekend trip. Hence why this is my third trip to the city and surrounding area.

It is one of my favorite US cities mainly because it feels like enough of a city, without being completely overwhelming. There is a lot going on in the city but it is not too big to navigate. One downside is that it tends to be a city you need a car to get around in but the traffic is not atrocious if you aren't trying to get around at peak times in the day.

November is also a great time to visit this part of Tennessee. Nashville falls in the middle of the state, which is a rather long state. This part of Tennessee definitely feels like you're getting into the mountainous region of the state. It's a much different landscape to North Mississippi. There are a lot more trees and sweeping hills so November was a beautiful time of the year to see this landscape.

I spent five days travelling from Memphis to Nashville and then back home through Alabama. While in Nashville, my sister and I visited the Downtown area, Bellemeade Plantation, Green Hills and ventured out to Franklin, Brentwood and a small town called Lebanon. We came back through Florence, Alabama, home of the University of North Alabama and right at the top of the state, on the Tennessee River. It was a great trip. Lots of good food, shopping, music and some ice hockey!

Below are a selection of my photos from a handful of the places we visited over the five days.
