Why you babysitting on those two or three shots, Imma show you how to turn it up a notch

So I popped into Topshop on Thursday afternoon and had a look through the last of their sale. I came across this neon pink dress with a cut out back reduced to £9 fro £29. I think my love for neon has increased this week due to the absolutely fantastic weather. It's been so sunny and hot, but I don't think it's going to stay that way for too much longer. I was taking it easy in the sun though. My poor pale skin just isn't used to it so I didn't want to burn. I do want to build a base tan for MS though and a tan is definitely needed with this dress. Anyway I teamed it up here with a gold cuff necklace which I also bought from Topshop in the sale at £7, down from £14.

With this gorgeous weather I've also been feeling in the summer party mood and created a Top Five Summer 2012 list for you, my recommendations to check out this July/August:

Kendrick Lamar- Swimming Pools (Drank) I really enjoyed the Pitchfork review of this track, check it out here. The writer Ian Cohen comments that, "the hook is so damn catchy you can imagine college kids using it for drinking games anyway." I think this guy has it down to a tee, the hook truly is so damn catchy. "Why you babysitting on those two or three shots, Imma show you how to turn it up a notch, First you get a swimming pool full of liquor then you dive in it". But when you properly listen to the song you realise this isn't your usual Wiz Khalifa "Party all day, party all night" type song, Lamar is discussing the serious issue of alcohol abuse and dependency.

Cat Power- Ruin An absolutely fantastic song. I can't stop playing it and singing it. It's definitely my "Machu Picchu" of 2012, humming it to myself on the way to work, during work and after.

HAIM-Forever This girl trio was hotly tipped at this year's SXSW and under my sister's recommendation also I took a listen. This track just makes me want to dance around. They're EP is really great as well.

Frank Ocean- sweet LIFE Ahh Frank, the man of the hour. Absolutely love this song and the album. Totally loved nostalgia, ultra as well. Frank can do no wrong in my book.

Poolside- Slow Down This LA based band produces an amazing lazy sunny afternoon anthem. It makes me want to swan around by a pool and sip on a large cocktail.
