Beauty Review: Valentia Vitamin C Even Glow Serum

Hello everyone! I hope you're doing well and glad to finally be out of the worst of the winter weather. Sadly it's been raining here all weekend but we've had some really beautiful sunny days and warmer temperatures all around so it definitely feels more like spring.

Back in February I was sent Valentia's Vitamin C Even Glow Serum to try out and I've been using it on and off for the past month. The Even Glow Serum claims to increase your skin's hydration and lock in moisture, while also helping to repair and restore damaged skin to help it glow and appear more youthful.

The serum is an antioxidant treatment, which also claims to have the following five benefits:

-Evens skin tone
-Increases glow and radiance
-Absorbs rapidly
-Boosts collagen production
-Reduces wrinkles and fine lines

The serum appears pretty thick when you first look at it. Valentia recommend that you give it a good shake up before you apply it. You apply it with a pipette so you can dot the product around your face and then rub it in with you hands. You don't need a lot of this product as it goes a long way.

As recommended in the directions, I washed and cleansed my face and then dried it. I then applied the serum and let it soak into my skin before going to sleep.

I have definitely found that the mornings after I have used the serum, my skin does appear to have more of a 'glow' to it, and not in an oily sense. It definitely looks more hydrated and not as dull as it can look when I first wake up. I definitely needed the extra hydration in February as it was bitterly cold here so my skin was getting really dried out, especially on my cheeks.

Another aspect I was impressed with is the product packaging. It comes in a really sleek designed box and then in a bottle with a pipette. I like the gold and white packaging and labelling as it feels modern and the gold gives it a more expensive look. The product actually is $35 on Amazon so it isn't cheap by any means, but I was impressed that Valentia had taken the time to make a good product and also focused on the branding of the serum. I feel like it can compete with some of the other higher beauty brands.

A couple of negatives I found with the serum is that I was hoping to see more of a difference with evening of my skin tone. My chin is a problem area of my skin and as I've suffered from acne and so it's a little scarred. I was hoping the serum may help to even out some of the darker patches but I am not really seeing a difference yet. I may perhaps need a scar specific cream for this area of my face.

The other negative I found is the scent of the product. It's obviously a strong citrus scent, though it's not necessarily overpowering but this not my favorite smell. It didn't smell too far off some of InstaNatural's products, perhaps as they both contain some of the same ingredients such as Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and green tea extract. It's just that I am not a huge citrus scented fan so it's not my favorite smelling product to use.

Overall, I have to say that I am impressed with this product and have been trying to incorporate it into my everyday beauty routine. Serums are extremely popular right now and I know a lot of the beauty YouTubers I watch all swear by using them. I'll admit that I am not entirely sure if I'm convinced it's a step I need in my beauty routine right now but I do like how my skin feels more hydrated and looks refreshed in the morning after using this product before going to sleep.

Valentia's Even Glow Serum is for sale on Amazon for $35.00 here. You can also find out more about Valentia on their website here.
