Happy New Year...Upgrading in 2013!

I finally took the plunge and bought a Canon EOS 1100 DSLR camera. I've been umming and ahhing about upgrading my Panasonic Lumix bridge to an SLR for a while now and finally made the decision that I would ask for some money for my upcoming birthday to put towards one and committed to buying it today from Jessops. It's just the entry level Canon DSLR but it seems pretty good. It came with the standard 18-55mm lens but I also bought a Canon 50mm portrait lens which was on offer and I feel will come in handy.

I will miss my bridge. I bought it back in August 2010 just before I left for my exchange year in Oxford. That camera travelled with me all over the place between August 2010 to June 2011, as well as a couple of interesting places when I returned home over the past year.

A New Year calls for a fresh start in the camera department I feel. Anyway, here are some photos I took this afternoon while playing around with it. Lulu was my predominately my model, after a bit of coaxing with some biscuits she came around and I think I got a few nice ones of her.
