January
In early January I celebrated my 22nd birthday with around 26 of my friends! It was a truly fantastic night and I was completely spoilt by the fact that so many people turned up. Thanks again to everyone who came, my friends from first year (QHC) and Mississippi exchange group. We went for a curry followed by some dancing on Broadstreet, doing it Birmingham style!
March
Things went a little stale until March when I handed in my dissertation. A celebratory dinner at the Mailbox, followed by some dancing at Jam House was the perfect way to round off the hard work with fellow American Studies fourth years (and our Canadian exchange friend!).
June
In June, my sister snagged us two tickets to the Diamond Jubilee concert outside of Buckingham Palace. It was a wonderful evening of Union Jack waving and singing along to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney and Tom Jones!
The Jubilee Concert was followed by a short stint back to Birmingham for the Graduation Ball. While the rain literally put a dampener on the occasion, we still managed to scrub up and enjoy ourselves.
July
After a couple of months working back at home at my old job, I again ventured to Birmingham in July to celebrate my results with family and friends. I did it, 2.1 baby!
August
This picture is actually from October of this year but it represents moving back to Oxford, MS in August to start the MA Southern Studies program.
October
In October, I made the roadtrip down to Nola with my sister for a weekend in my first ever car.
November
In November, I celebrated Thanksgiving with some new friends in Oxford. Thanks again to the lovely Audrey and Anne for hosting and cooking!
Returning home to the wonderful Blighty to see my family and friends. Seeing my family for a food and game filled Boxing Day is always fun, and while I wasn't well enough to go out with my girlfriends, I did at least catch up with them at the pre-drinks.
So there we have it, just a few highlights from 2012, what a fantastic year. I shall venture on into 2013, continuing my Master's program and hoping for more enjoyable experiences along the way.
lovely pictures!
