It is most definitely Fall today, I've got my window rolled up as far as it can go, letting in the cool autumnal breeze while I listen to Hospitality. Plums recall memories of the first house I can remember living in. We lived there until I was seven years old, a medium sized semi-detached house in a cul-de-sec in a village on the outskirts of a small town in Devon. Behind the house was a bowling green and I remember often looking out my bedroom window to see people rolling the balls out on the dark green lawn, dressed in clean and crisp all-white, taking breaks for tea during the games in the afternoon. To the front of our house was a small lawn and on the one corner a plum tree. I remember picking those plums on a few occasions with my mum and sister. We'd have so many that we'd always give them to my grandma and to Peggy, one of our neighbours, a much older woman who would often look after my sister and I for an afternoon or two. Peggy would make plum jam and give my parent's a jar and my mum would make a plum crumble for Sunday lunch.
These perhaps rather romanticised memories of this fruit and it's sumptuous maroon and purple hues are what have made me so obsessed with the plum colour palette this Fall. I'm not in any position to be purchasing clothes at the moment so I decided an affordable Fall update would be to purchase a plum lipstick. Revlon has a fantastic selection of colours under the Plum bracket and they're only around $5 each.

A fantastic example can be found from the always beautiful Jamie Beck over at 'From Me to You'. The colour I'm wearing in the photo below definitely has more of a shimmer to it than Jamie's more matte finish and I think I prefer Jamie', it's far more vampy! Anyway here is my attempt at updating my wardrobe a la plum.
